Outwardly confident, but inwardly a mess, sixteen-year-old Sydney attempts to numb her grief
from the loss of her mother with the ecstasy of first love. Desperate for love and a sense of
belonging, she relishes being Tyler’s girlfriend. However, with Tyler’s love comes his temper, a
minefield she navigates daily. When Hasan Ozan, a loner who spends more time vaping than
attending class, accidentally witnesses Tyler’s abuse, Sydney has someone who knows
the truth and will challenge her devotion to Tyler. When Sydney finally breaks up with Tyler, he
sets his sights on Hasan in revenge, forcing Sydney to choose between Hasan’s welfare, and her
own.
